SIRT Training Pistol

Several months after first pistol purchase and classes, I noticed and had pointed out to me problems that needed practice to over come. I purchased this for practice in home T
It has weight and feel of my S&W, MP. I can safely practice my single and two handed grip. My 3 non trigger fingers have very strong sympathetic flex movement when trigger is squeezed. So frustrating! Especially since thus is unconscious movement. Found videos on how to correct this. Several times a day I practice technique. After just a few days I have noticed marked improvement! Also have trouble releasing the magazine. Instructor and 'help' just seemto push the button and it drops. My frustration level was high. At this site I found a reason and simple technique to fix this problem. I also practice removing and re-holstering for off body carry. This product is helping me a lot. Strongly recommend for absolute beginners to use in conjunction with classes.

It lets you focus on your sight picture, grip, and trigger press without the added cost of range time and ammo! So when you make it to the range your just fine tuning.

I bought the SIRT pistol primarily for dry fire practice, and set it up with a red dot optic to duplicate the Glock I use in steel plate competitions. The trigger weight can only be reduced to about 5 lbs which is about the same as the factory trigger but no where near as light as my race gun. Also the laser has no momentary setting so its possible to be off target at trigger pull and sweep the laser across the reactive target triggering it as if it was a legitimate hit.
The SIRT pistol is very useful walking through the house practicing center axis relock and point shooting without using sights. My version with the steel upper and weighted magazine is pretty close in weight and feel to a loaded Glock which is what I wanted for practice. I also have a laser cartridge which requires racking the slide for each shot and shoots way out of line with the sights on all my Glocks. The SIRT trigger resets after each shot and the laser easily aligns with the sights. If the SIRT had a momentary laser trigger option rather than a 2nd laser (which I never use) and more trigger adjustment it would be perfect

I have been having a great time setting up different dry practice scenarios. The real feel of the magazine helps a lot with mag change drills. This has been a welcome addition to my training!

Outstanding tool!

This is a wonderful training tool. With the multiple modes, can teach about a slow smooth trigger pull.
Shows when you jerk the trigger.
Weight and trigger pull are realistic.
Fits holsters for MP Shield, so good for practice on holster draws, and real life scenarios.
Also good for training shooting while you're moving. Also real life scenario.

Would highly recommend. Works well for all ages of students.

I tend to be nervous about firing a pistol. The ease of practicing with the SIRT gives me more confidence that I can pull the trigger. It'd be even better if it came with the thumb safety the Smith & Wesson M&P, which I replace with a thumb-flick motion where the safety should be. I needed to experiment before I figured out how to match the weight of the actual pistol, but removing the magazine brought the weight pretty close. A little technical support let me remove the backstrap so that my hand fit the SIRT the way it does the pistol.
