    Product Details

A gun-cleaning product that would be safe to eat? That's Froglube! Not that we're suggesting you eat it, but Froglube is a biodegradable lubricant that is USDA Certified "Food-Grade". All ingredients are produced in the USA. It is a non-toxic substance that dissolves carbon on contact. It has a heavy specific gravity, which enables it to ‘season’ the metal by absorption deep into the pores. Using Frogluberesults in a durable, dry slick, wax-like surface that reduces friction, eliminates fouling, and destroys rust. Froglube is safe for plastic, urethane, nylon, and wood.

Froglube will not harm the environment.

    Features:

    • Biodegradable, non-petroleum, non-toxic lubricant. Contains no water or wax.
    • Available in a paste or liquid
    • Produced from “USDA Certified” food grade components
    • Liquid and paste serve as a cleaner, lubricant, and protector
    • Handles an extremely wide temperature range. Does not burn like petroleum products.
    • Friendly to wood, plastics, rubber, & urethane
    • Moistens o-rings, nylon, & rubber parts
    • Pleasant mint smell

    Benefits:

    • Creates a durable and dry slippery surface that reduces friction and dissolves carbon on contact.
    • Liquid and paste can be used interchangeably as a CLP. The Liquid was designed to penetrate into the internals and the paste serves well as a "stick where you want it" lubricant for the externals.
    • Froglube contains no known toxins, so it is safe to handle or to come into contact with skin and it will not irritate eyes.
    • Firearms parts can be warmed before application to improve the application and absorption. A few minutes in the sun will do it, or apply right after shooting when weapon is hot.
    • When used repeatedly, Froglube eases later cleaning
    • Also acts extremely well as a rust preventative

Tube Kit Includes: 1 oz FrogLube Solvent, 4 oz FrogLube CLP Paste, 1.5 oz FrogLube CLP Squeeze Tube, Brush, Towel

    HOW IT WORKS

    Made in the USA!

    How to Use

ALWAYS FOLLOW MANUFACTURER INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE SPECIFIC FIREARM IN USE.

The following procedure will dramatically reduce your maintenance time and frequency intervals to insure the full, long-lasting performance of your weapon. You may use standard weapons cleaning tools such as nylon brushes, bore patches and brushes, Q-tips, bore snakes and cloths. Since FrogLube is 100% biobased, you can select a premium grade cloth which you may launder in a washer and dryer. FrogLube recommends laundering separately. When used in accordance with these instructions, FrogLube delivers a slick and slippery finish that shoots dry, wicks to the surface when warmed and dissolves carbon on contact. Note: If you have any concerns about using FrogLube products, try a small amount in a non-descript area of your firearm to confirm compatibility.

    PREPARATION:

    1. Your new weapon is likely factory-treated with a lubricant or protectant of a petro-chemical substance or you may have used a petrochemical or other substances on your weapon.
    2. For your first application; for best performance, it is preferred to remove any petroleum fouling or residue from your weapon using FrogLube Solvent™ prior to applying FrogLube.
    3. It’s best to clean ALL surfaces with FrogLube cleaning products – FrogLube cleaners do not leave a residue.

NOTE: You should discontinue the use of petrochemical-based cleaners and lubricants since they negate the optimal effects of a FrogLube-treated weapon.

The FrogLube System Approach: The combination of the Solvent and the CLP will provide the best result. The two products were designed to integrate and provide the optimal performance from your firearm.

    APPLICATION/TREATMENT:

    Solvent

    1. Remove ‘heavy’ grease or stubborn fouling with nylon brush and/or shop towels.
    2. Apply generous amount of FrogLube Solvent using brush, towels or spray applicator.
    3. Allow 1-3 min. to activate full cleaning action.
    4. Agitate/scrub surface with nylon brush, towel or cleaning tool. You may notice a slight foaming on surface.
    5. Wipe off with microfiber towel, patches or paper towels to remove all moisture.
Note: If you prefer, you may use compressed air to blow off excess until dry.

Solvent is non-flammable and may be used in conjunction with a heated ultrasonic or cleaning tank. Check with manufacturers instructions for compatibility and user instructions. Test cleaning performance at 6 min. intervals.

Surface should now be clean, dry and ready for lube/protectant application.

    Cleaning Liquid (CLP)

    1. Pre-clean using above procedure with FrogLube Solvent™.
    2. For best results, apply heat to area to be treated. Heat from a heat lamp, heat blower or ambient sunlight is more than sufficient.
    3. Apply FrogLube and allow time to absorb. (heat quickens the rate of absorption)
    4. Scrub, agitate, and wipe off excess. Normal cleaning tools such as nylon brushes, patches, wipes and towels are sufficient.
    5. Lubricate per manufacturers instruction. FrogLube will work dry or wet.
Note: In hot/dusty or extreme cold, follow manufacturers directions for use in extreme environmental conditions.
    6. If storing, apply a light coat for long term protection.
    LONG TERM CARE:

Heat. Although not required, you will find that 15 min of direct sunlight or equivalent allows for thorough application of FrogLube. When the surface is warmed, the rate of FrogLube absorption is increased.

    HARSH EXPOSURES:

For more demanding conditions, such as salt water, humidity or long-term storage, we recommend a light to moderate coat of FrogLube on parts. Product is applied slightly more generously, and you should still see the metal surface through a gloss or thin film of the material.

    SUBSEQUENT CLEANING & RE-APPLICATION:

FrogLube testing has demonstrated unmatched reliability through thousands of rounds of firing without cleaning; however, most manufacturers will recommend inspecting and cleaning after every use.

    1. If you get ‘build-up’ due to lack of cleaning, and you sustain sluggish performance, do a field strip and a generous application of FrogLube Solvent to all parts and spaces. You will find amazing cleaning results and this should normally return the firearm to peak operating performance.
    2. After long term storage, you should do a field strip, clean and inspect. Reapply the CLP to preference.
    3. In the event the firearm is over lubricated, do a thorough cleaning with FrogLube Solvent; it will remove excess lubricant in and inside the firearm spaces.

    FOR ONE-SHOT SHOOTERS - HUNTERS/SNIPERS:

    Gun:

Do a detail clean/strip with generous amount of solvent. Wipe off excess with microfiber towels.

    Apply heat per instruction above.

    • Apply a generous coating of FrogLube to desired friction points. Scrub with cleaning brushes and allow to absorb.
    • Wipe dry with microfiber towels.
    • Lube as desired.

    Bore:

    • Scrub internal bore surface with generous amount of solvent using nylon bore brush and/or wet patch, followed by dry patches until clean and dry.
    • Repeat this step until patches reveal little to no fouling. Vigorous friction applied to surfaces increases cleaning performance.
    • Run a saturated FrogLube CLP patch to ‘season’ the barrel surface followed by 3-5 dry patches.

Observation: High quality barrels will maintain stable shot group deviation for 80-100 rds between cleanings.

NOTE: All of FrogLube’s products are bio-based, non-hazardous and environmentally friendly.

    FAQ

What about natural ingredients, e.g. ‘biobased’ formulas vs petroleum based formulas inside of guns?

Froglube and solvent system complies with U.S. Military and NRA guidelines for gun maintenance. FrogLube’s system prevents oxidation which we believe is a leading cause of variance, such as residue formation (accuracy) and corrosion (rust) . This is what makes FrogLube the best preservative on the market today. It doesn’t react with oxygen. But it does react with fouling. This is a key point that is often missed.

What is the FrogLube Weapons Performance and Care “System”?

    FrogLube Solvent™ and FrogLube® CLP

Two “food grade” products have been formulated to work “together” to remove the  fouling byproducts produced in a firearm; this includes carbon, copper, lead, firing residue and other non-specific build-up. A cleaning solvent is necessary to strip and degrease and a lubricant is needed to smooth actions and provide corrosion resistance. Both formulas have been carefully engineered to prevent interaction and residue formation.

    How does FrogLube work?

FrogLube is a heavy specific gravity “food grade” mixture that seeps deep into the micro spaces of the metal and acts as if to ‘season’  the surface of the bore, any friction points and all areas treated with the lube. Once treated, fouling particles resist bonding to metal surfaces;  instead, they easily wipe away or brush off the surface. This also applies to other loose fouling particles such as dirt, dust and sand.  FrogLube does not film, nor is it a coating. Instead it is a treatment that is absorbed throughout the firearm.  It is water insoluble and will repel water and resist corrosion.

How often should I use FrogLube?

You should follow manufacturers instructions. Make sure the weapon is unloaded before inspecting for cleaning. Cleaning weapons regularly helps maintain reliability and extends the service life. You may choose to run a bore patch through the barrel before firing or when preparing the firearm for service to test for fouling particles or a blockage. Inspect glide and friction points and cycle the action to check for smooth function.

Normally, firearms should be cleaned and maintained after every use. Apply FrogLube to glide and friction points in accordance with firearm instructions. After firing, when the barrel is hot, is a good time to apply FrogLube into the barrel as the heat will accelerate the absorption into the voids of the metal. After treatment, you will notice a marked reduction in friction and temperature. It is not necessary to do this after every use, but should be done at regular intervals. You should ensure the excess FrogLube is removed by running a bore patch through the bore until it is clean and smooth.

Will FrogLube harm non-metal surfaces such as plastic, rubber, nylon or wood?

No. FrogLube will actually enhance the condition, moisten and preserve these materials.

Will FrogLube remove petroleum products, oils and grease?

Yes. FrogLube dissolves carbon and petro-chemicals on contact. You should discontinue use of petroleum or other petrochemicals as it will conflict with the optimal performance of FrogLube.

Will FrogLube harm after-market finishes, bluing or other permanent coatings such as night sights?

No. In fact, it will serve as a cleaner and will provide lasting protection against oily film build-up.

How do I use FrogLube in cold weather?

Always follow manufacturers instructions for your firearm. FrogLube is designed for arctic use. When you follow FrogLube directions, your lubricant is contained “within” your firearm, not “on” it. You should “winterize” your firearm before the onset of cold temps. Use FrogLube “Dry – Clean” Solvent to remove excess lube and protectant film. Wipe Dry. Use FrogLube CLP lube very sparingly. Your firearm is now ready for cold temperatures. For comprehensive instructions, follow the guidance provided in professional manuals such as the US Army’s Field Manual FM 31-70, Chapter 6.

Some bore cleaners recommend a time limit for application. Does that apply to FrogLube?

FrogLube CLP may be left in place indefinitely.

FrogLube Solvent should be wiped dry with absorbent cloth or gun patch.

Will FrogLube leave any residue when it dries?

No. FrogLube penetrates deep into the surface it contacts. Once dry, the surface will become slick to the touch. During firing, the lube will “wick” to the surface and provide a slippery and wet appearance to glide surfaces and hot spots.

    Great Product

The product is great. It’s non-toxic and has a minty smell to it. I literally can use my finger to rub it on and where my finger won’t fit they included a cotton swab for. Just like all product a little goes a long way. Really great product.
